Postmortem

On August 2nd, 2024 at 9:26 AM PDT, the index search service experienced a high error rate leading to unexpected issues for customers when trying to access Forms, Dashboards, WorkApps, and the Admin Center. After initial investigation our teams identified the source of the problem and began mitigation. By 9:40 AM errors began dropping back down. By 10:20 AM Forms, Dashboards, WorkApps, Admin Center identity reporting monitors were recovering and back to normal. We are making improvements based on our learnings from the incident to avoid similar incidents in the future.
